Microneedling in Richardson, TX
What Is Microneedling?
When over-the-counter skin care products are no longer effective, but you aren't ready for surgical procedures, consider a skin rejuvenation treatment, like SkinPen® microneedling. Our team performs microneedling (collagen induction therapy) at our Richardson, TX office. Microneedling uses several fine needles to safely and effectively create micro-injuries in the needed areas of the skin. The micro-injuries prompt the natural production of collagen and elastin, two nutrients that enhance the appearance and health of your skin. You can also opt for PRP microneedling using your platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which may be administered to the same region to help cells heal and enable the skin to begin growing new cells. Microneedling with PRP can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, scars, large pores, and other skin problems. Schedule a consultation with Pristine Med Spa to learn more about the benefits of microneedling and how to customize your procedure for your needs and goals.
How Does Microneedling Work?
SkinPen microneedling is completed in a private treatment room in about 30 – 60 minutes with local anesthesia or numbing cream if requested. Patients typically report little or no pain and discomfort. The areas of skin being treated will be cleaned before the SkinPen handpiece is evenly passed over. After the microneedling is complete, a topical treatment or a vitamin-infused serum may be applied so the nutrients can penetrate deeper into the skin.
When you opt for PRP microneedling, a member of our medical team will take a sample of your blood for your PRP collection. The drawn blood will then be transferred to our laboratory for the separation process, during which your platelets, growth factors, and stem cells can be turned into PRP. Pristine Med Spa utilizes state-of-the-art technology to make tiny holes in your skin. The little needles used won't damage your skin but instead will help stimulate the production of collagen. When the microneedling is finished, the PRP serum is placed into the skin to sink in. After the PRP is completely absorbed, we'll clear away the serum and cleanse the skin.

Microneedling (SkinPen®) FAQs
How much does microneedling cost?
In your initial consultation, Dr. Khan will perform a skin analysis and create your custom treatment plan. From there, she can talk about your costs and the procedure. Pristine Med Spa often offers specials on skin treatment packages, so ask about current deals during your appointment.
What exactly is microneedling?
Also known as collagen induction therapy, microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment to improve the health of your skin. Collagen is a fibrous protein that helps keep your skin smooth, supple, and tight. Eventually, your collagen stores deplete, making your skin thin and losing elasticity. Microneedling creates small wounds on your skin. These micro-injuries prompt your skin to generate new skin cell growth and increase collagen production. After a short recovery period, your complexion looks firmer, brighter, and healthier.
Can I combine other treatments with microneedling?
During the microneedling process, channels are made that help other treatments to reach the lower layers. This is why microneedling is frequently combined before other treatments, such as special serums or PRP (platelet-rich plasma). Microneedling plus PRP has become known as a vampire facial. In your initial consultation, Dr. Khan will explain what treatments would enhance your microneedling and which can help your skin's health.
